Tech TY Supports World Community Grid and Joins Hands On Orlando Super Heroes Team

World Community Grid
This is an amazing virtual volunteer opportunity for everyone who has a computer connected to the Internet.
------------------------------------
Here's your chance to be a hero...a Super Hero!  Join our Super Heroes team and help solve some of the world’s biggest problems, like ending Cancer and AIDS.
You might be asking yourself; “How can I make a difference; I’m not a scientist or doctor?”  In reality, this opportunity is a no-brainer.  To join our team, you only need one or more computers connected to the Internet.
Our Super Heroes team is part of the World Community Grid - the world's largest public computing network, that works on projects that benefit humanity.  Over 550,000 people have connected more than 1.8 million computers to the Grid.

“World Community Grid is making technology available only to public and not-for-profit organizations to use in humanitarian research that might otherwise not be completed due to the high cost of the computer infrastructure required in the absence of a public grid,” states the Grid.

“As part of our commitment to advancing human welfare”, states the Grid, “all results will be in the public domain and made public to the global research community.

The Grid’s primary sponsor is IBM Corporation.  It has donated the hardware, software, technical services and expertise to build the infrastructure for World Community Grid and provides free hosting, maintenance and support.

Click here, fill-in a simple form, download and activate a super safe and secure program to get started.
This project is open to individuals, groups and companies.
You won’t even notice that your computer is getting hands-on.  Your computer will process small batches of research data.  It's also super easy to monitor your positive impact.
In addition to managing the Super Heroes team, Hands On Orlando is an official international partner of the World Community Grid.  Our team has collectively donated over 48 years of computing time on projects devoted to everything from clean water to curing Cancer.
